The two sides belong together. Food cannot replace muscular demand, and exercise cannot fully compensate for inadequate intake or recovery.

Build: strengthen the anabolic meal signal

Use leucine-rich complete protein and sufficient essential amino acids to support the mTORC1-associated muscle-protein-synthesis response, especially around meaningful muscular demand.

This is not a single food, supplement, or workout. It is a repeatable pattern in which demand is appropriate to ability and nutritional support is individualized.

Scientific framing

This educational protocol integrates established concepts in resistance exercise, muscle-protein turnover, mitochondrial adaptation, meal timing, and recovery. mTORC1 is a signaling complex and PGC-1α is a transcriptional coactivator; neither is itself an epigenetic mechanism. Epigenetic regulation is one part of the broader process through which repeated environmental signals influence gene expression and adaptation.
