Epinutrition.org is a nonprofit educational initiative of ProtectU45 Initiative Inc., a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to improving public health through education about nutrition, epigenetics, and disease prevention.

Our Mission

EpiNutrition.org transforms complex epigenetic and nutritional science into free, approachable, interactive public education. Our mission is to help people understand how gene expression is regulated, how everyday dietary patterns participate in biological signaling, and how science-informed nutrition may help reduce modifiable colorectal cancer risk.

Our mission is to make reliable, science-based information about epigenetic nutrition freely accessible to the public, with an initial focus on helping people under age 45 develop healthy eating habits that can support lifelong well-being. We place particular emphasis on the rising incidence of colorectal cancer among younger adults and the potential role of nutrition in reducing modifiable risk.

Our first major educational resource is Epigenetic Nutrition: Reducing the Risk of Colon Cancer in Young People. The book is available free of charge through Epinutrition.org as part of our commitment to removing financial barriers to preventive health information.

ProtectU45.org also plans to expand its public education efforts through short-form educational videos, social media outreach, and lectures at colleges and universities across the United States. These programs will explain the science of epigenetic nutrition in clear, practical language and help young people make informed dietary choices.

Our Founder

ProtectU45.org was founded by Martin J. Coyne, MD, MMI, a board-certified internist and gastroenterologist whose career has centered on understanding the relationship between diet and disease and advancing the prevention of colorectal cancer.

Dr. Coyne’s research has included work on cholesterol metabolism and the role of gut bacteria in human health. His clinical career also included early work introducing colonoscopy for cancer screening at Cedars-Sinai in 1972 in collaboration with George Berci, MD. He graduated from Boston University School of Medicine, trained in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and earned a Master of Medical Informatics from Northwestern University.
